Frequently Asked Questions

Is a hair trial necessary before the wedding?

While a trial isn't always essential, it provides an opportunity for us to meet before your big day and for me to familiarise myself with your hair. I have successfully worked with many brides who have not had a trial, but a trial is the ideal opportunity to try different styles to suit you & your dress, to make sure everything runs like clockwork on your big day.

How can I schedule a hair trial, and what should I bring?

To book a trial, simply email me at hello@rosaleenshairgallery.ie. Trials are held at my home studio in Galway. Please feel free to bring any inspirational pictures to help me understand and create your desired look. Trials normally take place in the week as I’m usually busy with weddings at the weekend but I will do all I can to find a time that works for you.

What's the best way to prepare my hair for the trial and wedding day?

I recommend shampooing your hair twice with a professional shampoo and conditioning only the mid-lengths and ends. Blow-dry your hair as best you can without adding any products. If you're using hair treatments, it's advisable to stop at least 2 weeks before the wedding to ensure your hair has the right texture to hold the style.

Do you work with hair extensions?

Absolutely! Many of my brides use hair extensions for added volume, length, and hold. I have worked with various types of extensions, including bonds, tapes, and clip-ins. I'm happy to provide recommendations based on your specific needs.

What time do you typically start on the wedding day?

The start time is tailored to each bride and depends on factors such as your ceremony time and the number of people in your bridal party. I will work backwards from your ceremony time to ensure you're ready at least an hour beforehand, allowing you plenty of time with your family and photographer.

How long does it take to style the bride's hair on the wedding day?

On average, I allocate about 1 to 1.5 hours for the bride's hairstyling on the wedding day. This ensures we have ample time to create your perfect look and make any necessary adjustments without feeling rushed.

Do you offer hairstyling services for the entire bridal party?

Yes, I provide hairstyling services for the entire bridal party, including bridesmaids, flower girls, and even the mother of the bride or groom. I'm happy to create cohesive and beautiful looks for everyone involved in your special day.

Can you accommodate large bridal parties or tight timelines?

If you have a large bridal party or need everyone to be ready within a short timeframe, I will do my best to bring in a second stylist to assist me. Please share your ceremony start time, and I'll advise you if booking a second stylist is necessary to ensure a stress-free and enjoyable experience for everyone.
